Wanderlust Wednesday: Taj Mahal, India

“Every one of a hundred thousand cities around the world has its own special sunset and it was worth going there, just once, if only to see the sun go down.” –Ryu Murakami

The Taj Mahal (and India in general) was not an easy place to reach. Eighteen hours, two planes, scorching temperatures, stifling humidity, a series of stomach maladies and  a crushing wave of humanity were just a few obstacles. But, in the end, the Taj Mahal was the most stunningly beautiful building I have ever seen. I guess that makes all the hardship and discomfort worth it.

Tell me about your own hard-to-reach destinations in the comments. Was it worth it in the end?
